Youth Action Collective

Group of people who are a part of the Youth Action Collective sitting out under the trees

In 2021 we invited all local high schools in the Coffs Harbour LGA to nominate young people to attend a youth training day at the Botanic Gardens and be part of the Youth Action Collective. The day included an introduction to Gumbaynggirr culture, a First Nations perspective on racism, and anti-racism training presented by the Challenging Racism Project.

We have 18 active members who attend monthly meetings, contributing to the development of AOUTS, its leadership and relevance to young people. They will also support the launch of AOUTS in the community and in schools, and will look for future opportunities to make an impact around racism in their local school communities.

If you would like more information about this collective please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.
