An original theatre show exploring racism and the role of the bystander, weaving real life scenarios with poetry, hip hop, film and dance. Stand Up Stand By has been created by young people from Orara High school as part of the All One Under the Sun program to address racism in schools and the broader community of Coffs Harbour.

Details

Stand Up Stand By focuses on the importance of bystander intervention to support those experiencing racism both during and after racist incidents. 'Stand Up Stand By' was first developed in 2022 with students from Orara Highschool in Coffs Harbour.

The aim of the show is to communicate the impact that racism has on individuals and how everyone has a role to play in eliminating racism.

The performances at Jetty Theatre, Coffs Harbour and Riverside Theatre, Parramatta were held in March 2023.

All One Under the Sun is funded by NSW Government through Multicultural NSW.

This documentary was created from the performance at Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium in 2022 and interviews with the cast and creative team.
